The Wall Street Journal has reported in their online blog that more than 1 in 7 US Citizens use food stamps. They have included a map where you can click on every state and see the statistics for the amount of people using food stamps.
There is a massive recent increase in the number of average American citizens dependent upon food stamps for survival.

Food resources go to blatant waste and spoil in the 1st world, while millions starve to death around the globe. The madness has to end. We are in desperate need of a resource-based economy built on principles of sustainability and regeneration.
